Boarding/Bathing (For Dogs and Cats)
Anniston Veterinary Clinic offers boarding for dogs and cats. We are able to administer medication and have a doctor readily available if anything should happen. We have cages and runs depending on the size of your pet. Cats and dogs are separated and all cages are thoroughly cleaned twice daily. Dogs are taken outside to our courtyard where we have runs available for your pet to burn off some energy. We look forward to caring for your pets during your vacation.
All pets are required to be current on vaccinations and be flea free. You can either show proof of vaccines upon check in or we can administer vaccines here. If your pet is found to have fleas, we will have to administer a flea treatment at a cost.
Vaccinations Required for boarding:
Cats: Rabies, FELV, and FVRCP

Digital Radiography: Digital radiology is an advanced diagnostic imaging tool used to examine your pet’s organs as well as the cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. This is a non-invasive procedure that allows our veterinarians to get an in-depth look at the conditions affecting your pet. Our digital radiology suite enables us to locate foreign objects, diagnose fractures and joint abnormalities, and screen for abnormalities in the internal organs.
There are a number of benefits with digital radiology compared to traditional film radiology. Digital x-rays produce a much higher image quality compared to a film x-ray, and the digital technology gives us nearly instant access to your pet’s results. This enables us to diagnose and treat your pet faster, so your pet can return home as quickly as possible. Radiation exposure to your pet is minimized digital radiology requires far less radiation compared to film x-rays. Digital radiology is also friendly for the environment because there are no chemicals to contaminate water systems.

HUMANE PET EUTHANASIA
All of us at Anniston Veterinary Clinic understand how important your pets are to you and your family – they’re furry family to us, too. If your pet has experienced a recent trauma or is suffering a long term illness, we are here to help you sort through the various medical options best suited for your family and your pet, or if the most compassionate decision is to provide your companion with a peaceful and dignified end of life.
Knowing when – or if – it is the correct time for euthanasia is one of the most difficult decisions facing a pet owner. The decision to euthanize your pet is an act of love, friendship, and selflessness – a gift you give to your loyal companion if they are suffering. We are here to answer all your questions, discuss quality of life issues and offer guidance so you can make the most educated decision on what is right for your pet – and your entire family.
If you decide it is time to say goodbye to your beloved pet, we will provide detailed information about the process of euthanasia so you will understand the process and will be prepared, and then we will lovingly ensure that your pet’s final journey is gentle, peaceful, and compassionate.
You and members of your family may choose to be present during the euthanasia. After your pet has passed away, you may stay with your pet for as long as you choose; if you decide not to be present during the euthanasia, please be assured we will respect and support your decision and treat your pet as we would our own loved family member.
All of the after-care arrangements will be handled by us in accordance with your wishes, in regards to burial or cremation. It is important to us to walk the final journey with you and your pet and we will be there for you in every way possible.
What is a Microchip?
A microchip is about the size and shape of a grain of rice, and is placed underneath your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. Microchip implantation takes only a few minutes and is safe for your pet. Each microchip ID is unique and carries vital contact information such as your name and address. Once a microchip is implanted, your pet’s information will be registered in a national pet recovery database. Animal hospitals and shelters can then search for your pet if they are ever lost.
